Review: The Guest List

THRILLER. THRILLER NIGHT.

I LOVED The Guest List by queen Lucy Foley. This book had it all -- Agatha Christie-esque twists and turns, murderous wedding guests, and attractive TV stars, all set on a barren, claustrophobic island off the coast of Ireland. I never really considered myself a thriller lover, but oh my god, this book was incredible. 

I won't spoil anything because that would ruin the mystery, but let me just say that going to an island with no cell service with people who know your darkest secrets does not seem like a good idea. Someone's going to die. Secrets will be spilled. The last couple pages had me HOOKED and I legit gasped when we learned the killer. 

Although I thought that the characters were completely unlikeable, perhaps that ultimately added to the novel. I hated every single character except two, and that sentiment definitely added to the claustrophobia and terror I felt while reading. 

9/10 recommend.
